WE. ARE. DONE!

Cat is now a Permanent Resident of Canada.

We mean to take that "Permanent" bit pretty damned seriously. She's ours now, and we plan to keep her.

Cat says the best job in the world has to be getting paid government wages to sit behind a desk all day saying "Congratulations, you are now a permanent resident, let me stamp that for you."

I am inclined to agree, as is apparently the very smiley woman who stamped her through.

Congratulations to Cat and all of you.

I used to think that being a reference librarian was the least thankless job on the planet. People were always so grateful when within minutes I found that piece of information they had spent weeks unsuccessfully trying to find on their own. I'd still be a librarian if I could do it without having to actually work for a b/i/g/u/g/l/y/b/u/r/e/a/u/c/r/a/c/y/library to do it.
