Carmen Miranda's Ghost is Haunting Courtroom Three

Cat and I are discussing Burn Notice and the Bechdel Test:

I mean, sometimes two female characters have conversations that are about men only in the sense of "You are under arrest for the murder of John Q Goodguy ..."

Which I feel should not count against a Bechdel score.
Anyway, Miranda's a girl, right?

Actually I should look Miranda up.

Except then I'd have to let go of my indefensible but amusing mental image of a Very Stern Judge wearing a fruit hat over her robe and white wig, sometime in y'all's early judicial history ...

Now I have "Carmen Miranda's Ghost is Haunting Space Station Three" in my head.

A while back, well before such boxes existed, I started singing "George Lucas's Ghost is Haunting my Playstation 3". Hilarity ensued.

Yes; I thought it was a shame that most of the (very important) female to female conversations in CS Forester's The Pursued were mother/daughter chats about how best to escape the consequences of having murdered daughter's odious husband.

Having had to read the Miranda case, I totally prefer your imagery and origin story for the Miranda rights. A stern judge in a fruit hat is one of the funniest images of the week.

I used to have a cat named Miranda. You would not believe how many times I was asked if she was named after "You have the right to remain silent..." She was actually named after a character in a kids book, specifically Randy Melendy in The Saturdays, etc., by Elizabeth Enright.

I certainly hope that my step-great-niece named Miranda does not get that question. It's a pretty name and doesn't deserve that.

I agree that the judge with the fruit salad hat is much more amusing, but, no, that particular Miranda was male, and it was his last name [g].
