There was a cheese in my shoe!

[personal profile] fairestcat is back in Madison and so am I. The House that Slash built came over to Benet and Amy's for supper and we made mushroom rice, chicken with Mural of Flavour, salad, and watermelon soup:

Contents of one seedless watermelon, scooped out and with a flat spot cut into the bottom.

One English cucumber, peeled and chopped into small enough pieces for the blender.

4-5 sprigs mint

Dash black pepper

Blend until nearly smooth and return to watermelon shell.

Chill and garnish with mint.

Verdict: good as soup, better in a glass with gin in it. :)

It was later, while Cat was explaining why all sensible superheroes are poly, that the cheese got into my shoe.

Now we're all just waiting for the weather to break.

I have now seen a purple cow
I never thought to see one
And I can tell you this right now:
I'd rather eat than be one.

Cat is right about superheroes, of course.

Now I wish I had a watermelon.

Giggle!

Yummy soup (in fact, sounds like a great dinner). I have a recipe for watermelon salad with feta cheese that sounds similarly good and cool -- except, of course, chunky instead of smooth.

Mmmm!!! Sounds like a great dinner! As for the purple cow, I believe that they're French and say 'Meaux!' :-)

Watermelon soup sounds like something I should have in my fridge at all times.

Err, recent anon comment was me, not logged in in VA.

So, as I was saying, welcome back!
