I haven't said anything about the Freddie Gray case, or subsequent events, because ... I don't think the world needs another dose of horrified despair from a white chick.

But if you're in the streets - or online, or otherwise - fighting for justice right now, know that I'm praying for your safety, your mental health, and your success.

And if you want to come tell me about rioters, go read Ta-Nehesi Coates or someone, and then ask yourself what forbearance, what love of peace and justice, what capacity for grace, is here that so many Black men and women and boys and girls have been slaughtered and the worst that has come out of the pain and anger their communities rightly feel is some property damage.

with a beautiful biracial granddaughter. and i am in total agreement with you. may the truth come out, and may the police become the friends of ALL the public that they are portrayed as being.

Here is all I got about cops: good cops do what we ask them to do. Bad cops do what we permit them to do.

This is not to say there are no issues inside police departments, but they aren't entirely self-generated, as much as we'd love to believe they are.
