Batting about the place
I will be in London (England not Comma) on November 17, getting in at 3 p.m. and flying out the next day.
I am staying at YHA Oxford Street, which is handy to both Heathrow and some promising locations for a BatMoot.
Anyone care to meet up?

Google is getting me nothing useful here. I would suppose it's the Ontario London but ?
Hope it's a splendid trip!

"I'm from London-comma-Ontario".

That seems a most entirely cromulent usage; I was wondering if it might have been "coma" but that is perhaps unkind.

With respect to accents, I was in England when I was 16 and retained far more of the Lanark County, Ontario accent than I now have. Someone there was trying to place my accent, asked me what county I was from, got told "Lanark" and then had a visible brain failure.

Could be Paris.

My father spent a chunk of time growing up in Scotland, which is close enough to Paris to make for "close" by rural standards, and my aunt, uncle and cousins stayed there. I have various cousins' in-laws from around the area.
Unlike my (and their) other cousins from the Ottawa Valley, they do not talk as though they had just come out from Perthshire.

It's nothing special, but the Coach and Horses on the corner of Poland St and Great Marlborough St has an upstairs and is nice and handy for jet-lagged Canadians staying at the YHA.

I recall the one on Lamb's Conduit fondly but tbh I'm not sure whether that's because it's a good pub, because I met you all there, or just because the street name is so extremely great, you know?

Well, say 6, just in case. :-)

The pub seems a safe option-- truly words CANNOT express my talent for getting lost in strange cities when tired. I read maps very well, I used to be a dispatcher, but my response to a certain level of travel stress seems to be like dropping a honking great magnet on to my internal compass...
