I assume "stomach bug" is code for "vomiting" and therefore gets my anti-vote. The rest can be endured and slept through, preferably with pharmaceutical assistance, but vomiting is not something you can quietly wait out.

Agreed. The only "good" (less bad?) thing about stomach bugs is that they don't tend to last more than a day or two, whereas colds, coughs, etc usually last several days up to weeks.
