The trip through the Rockies should be as majestic as you want - we've been having a lot of Winter Wonderland all at once. You are likely to get to Kamloops at 2:00 am, so be asleep, yes.

Bring decent nourishment.

Okay yes, the last time I rode the train from Edmonton to Kamloops was in 2002, and possibly things have changed, but that trip was why I haven't travelled by train since. Therefore: bring decent nourishment, more entertainment than you will think you will need (passenger trains are delayed for freight trains), and a comfy pillow. Their pillows are cute.

Yup, that's why I'm taking the train. Flying into Castlegar/Trail right now is apt to be enough of a shitshow I doubt I'd beat my current ETA.

You're in the Interior? Whereabouts? You don't know anyone coming down from Kamloops Wednesday by chance? I just need to get to somewhere with a shuttle. Kelowna would be Just Fine.

ETA ah, no, Vancouver. Coffee when I'm there ... sometime this trip?

You are welcome to stop for refreshment on your way, but we are only about 1.5 hours south of Kamloops, so a little early for a rest stop. If you wish, speak and I will direct you.

I do not envy you the drive to Trail. Thoroughly beastly this time of year. The only thing worse is trying to land in Castlegar - but that doesn't make the drive good.

I am sorry to have missed this message. I wouldn't have been able to meet with you, but you could have known sooner. The Kamloops bus depot is one of the dreariest on the planet - and the sad little restaurant is gone, so there isn't even a place to uncomfortably sit at a table.
