I would like to say: I am not at all worried about avoiding duplication, and suggest that nobody else be either.

If eight people do posts on How To Cook Eggs, they will all be different, they will all be right and useful, and each of them will be somebody's absolute most useful and favourite post of the whole carnival.

Batch cooking, maybe? ...weekend prep? Though that second one assumes time/energy/spoons it's still, heh. One of those things that can be done when time/energy/spoons DO exist, to stave off the inevitable not having.

Question for the crowd assembled: are we supposed to be focusing on how to get from Zero to Two, or on a wider array? Because I have this sinking feeling that once a week cooking and bulk meat purchase don't fall into the category. I'd consider both good subjects for the wider array.

Speaking as a member of the crowd, I suspect that one person's Zero to Two is going to be another person's Advanced Studies. Everyone's dealing with different contexts and different levels of knowledge/financial resources/spoons.

Personally, I'd rather see people pitch in and share what knowledge they have, in the hope that it'll be useful to some people, rather than hold back because it might not be viable for everyone.

Yes. If a lot of the posts begin on different people's blogs, and then sub-threads branch out from there, there can be specialized sub-threads that don't get in the way of people who aren't interested.

This is basically why I tried to set up some guidelines (to keep some unity of theme, thus making it a proper Carnival) but also stress that interpreting those guidelines was something each person should do for themselves, or at least in consultation with other participants.

That and I lack the time, energy, spoons and desire to micromoderate this thing :-)
