We bought some calla-lily bulbs and - oops - left them in the trunk for two weeks.

I am QUITE sure they got frozen at least once in that time.

Have we killed them? Should we just pick up more?

In happier news, the porridge experiment turned out splendidly, and I have either planted or made preparations to plant - you have to soak morning glory and sweet pea seeds overnight first - three egg-cartons of flower seeds.

As [personal profile] oursin said recently, hounds ov spring sai ARF ARF.

Now I must shower and LBD-ify to go and celebrate my bride's new status.

As a Lowland-Coastal Californorian, I may be off-base, here. But my recollection is that Calla Lilies are not freeze-tolerant, as evidenced by my (suddenly-transplanted-from-Michigan) mother thinking *all* bulbs needed to be overwintered to have their best blooms, and therefore, digging up the Callas in our yard and "hardening them" in the frost-free freezer compartment in SoCal for about four weeks... resulting in dead-as-a-doornail Calla bulbs.

Car trunks ≠ freezer compartments of the fridge. YMMV.

Huzzah for crock-pot porridge! I miss Red River. It's hard(ish) to find out here.
