1 pkt Knorr Vegetable soup mix.
4 C water
1 large can beans, 6-bean mix or great northern or whatever sounds good.
2 large potatoes, cut into 1" pieces.
Dash of cumin, handful of tarragon, handful of onion flakes.

Combine, bring to a boil, let simmer until potatoes are soft. Could certainly add some veggies, frozen or not. Is improved by sitting on low, if you happen to do it early.

that sounds REALLY good. :)

finding good soup mixes/combos that are NOT tomato based is difficult for me when its not chicken soup.

unfortunately it *is* an allergy. latex allergies can lead to food allergies, which sucks swampwater.

what i dislike about packaging is that some manufacturers will just put "natural flavorings" on labels and a body just cannot take that sort of risk. i dont LIKE being drugged up on benadryl 24/7 till the allergen is cleared.

If you're a veggie make strong (i.e. boil it down) vegetable stock in advance and freeze it in one or two cup lumps.

If you're not do the same with chicken or fish stock. I find that if I tell the butcher or fishmonger that I want to make stock tomorrow they'll keep a day's worth of chicken carcasses (less wings, legs and breast meat) or fish bones and heads and sell them to me for pennies. You can then make strong stock half a gallon at a time in a pressure cooker.

Of course this assumes a freezer and some pre-planning.

That sounds tasty, ridiculously easy and tasty. Oops, said that twice -- must be hungry then :-)
