I have no can and I must all the things
Oct. 12th, 2015 04:31 pmSo, to recap:
Am in Rossland spending time with my physically and mentally fragile mother.
Have developed vicious cold.
1) cannot go near Mom until no longer contagious.
2) spent 7 hours with her yesterday, developed symptoms overnight.
3) miserable and panicked.
Have notified RA so they can keep an eye on her and on the lovely woman - also on oxygen - she shares a table with at meals (I sat next to her last night).
Next step, tea and a small orgy of self-pity.
Have established contact with local NDP, will be scrutineering Monday.

Date: 2015-10-13 06:56 pm (UTC)You hang out at the polling station and keep track of who's voted at that poll - or those polls - so that your outside scrutineers, at your zone house for your party can get your remaining voters out - if we have you down as a supporter and haven't seen you at the polls we'll call you to see if you need a ride, do you know where to go, are you unsure about what id you need...
So you hang around all day updating your copy of the voters list, basically. There tends to be a lot of coffee.
You're also there to observe the process and take note of any irregularities. You cannot interfere, but you can stand right there and watch and take notes.
If you and/or Mucca would like to do this, just contact the campaign office of the candidate of your choice and offer. You do not have to do the whole day.
At the end of the day you watch the returning officers do the final count.
