Understanding that this is total speculation and I am, in this case, playing devil's advocate for the sheer silly fun of it, I feel like had they had sincere lethal intent that would've gone faster ...

Shall we assume now that at some point Tony has a change of heart and joins Steve's side, but someone takes control of his suit remotely so Steve and Bucky have to save him by peeling him out of it?
