Kittens. Why even are these kittens.
Feb. 12th, 2016 11:07 amAs you may recall:
Senior Cat: Sovay. Calico. Rescue. Mildly psycho.
Junior Cat: Dreadful. Tuxedo. Diabetic, after a nasty bout of pancreatitis a few years ago. On a carefully restricted and timed diet.
Inevitably, they have a tumblr.
So.
We're currently feeding Sovay in my room, on top of my dressing table. This allows us to free-feed her, which is good as she's a nibbler, and Dreadful can't get to the dressing table so he can't steal her kibble.
EXCEPT Miss Sovay has taken to expressing her distaste for kibble which is insufficiently recent or otherwise does not meet her exacting standards by pushing her food plate off of the dressing table. (or, possibly, Dreads is paying her.)
And that is why I woke up in the middle of the night last night to the sight of the back half of Dreadful, protruding from the drawer where I keep my hair product, yowling pitiably and need of rescue.

Date: 2016-02-12 09:57 pm (UTC)I'd been getting worried about Aoife recently; loss of weight, diminished appetite, still sproingly and generally active and wanting to chase things, so maybe just feline middle age but loss of appetite isn't good.
Then the pet store ran out of the trout pudding; I went eek because Aoife is a picky, picky eater and got some salmon paté instead. Appetite restored. The little wretch-weasel was just too bored of that (formerly delicious) trout stuff to eat it much. And can't actually talk, so has no way to clearly express a desire for a menu change. (Deriving specific meaning from "the cat is irritated" being beyond my powers.)
So at least some cats get bored of food flavours. Perhaps Miss Sovay is one of them?
